Hello! We are a family with 2 daughters living in North Carolina, in the mid-Atlantic United States. Our girls are Liya (8) and Isabella (4), and parents are John and Reyna. You will be our second au pair; we have very much enjoyed our time with our au pair (from Ukraine) throughout this year. We’re looking forward to meeting you, learning about your home country, and introducing you to ours.
We recently moved to Chatham County, North Carolina, which is in the area of that state known as ”The Triangle”-a name, which refers to the 3 small cities nearby (Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill). This is an area known primarily for colleges and universities, and for technology companies. While the Triangle cities are not on the scale of New York or San Francisco, they do have museums, concerts, restaurants, shopping, and other activities in abundance. We are about a 3-hour drive from the ocean, and slightly less than that from the Smoky Mountains. Washington D.C. is about a 5-hour drive away.
Isabella does not yet attend school. She does enjoy making plans with Liya to meet other children at the park, or the playground, or the library for Story Time (on Fridays). She will start school in September, and is looking forward to going! She has been learning the basics of reading, writing, and math for the past several months, and would love to have you help her with these tasks.
For fun, Liya and Isabella like to run around outside, either by themselves or with us or with the neighbors’ children from down the street. They also like to make up games and activities for themselves. For the past several days, they have been pretending that Isabella’s room is a barn. In this barn live several stuffed horses, a wooden camels and a paper turkey. They are all fed three square meals per day of acoms. Liya loves horses, and takes riding lessons on weekends. Isabella likes to put on fancy clothes and dance whenever there is music playing. In the summers when school is out, the girls like nothing more than to be in the water. The pool at our house is handy for that!
In your free time, we hope you will take advantage of the many opportunities in the area to explore, learn, and have fun. We have an extra car that you will use to take the girls to various activities, and it will be available to you in your free time for attending classes, shopping, or going out with friends. We are interested in learning more about you and your home country, toe, and hope that you will enjoy learning more about us during the year.
